The marathon of a short story called Still First.
Who says writing short stories gets you nowhere? In October last year the story, Still First appeared for 6 months on the Red Telephone YA publisher's blogsite, Manchester. Then, Help for Writers, Leicester put it in ebook at Kindle and iTunes at 'The Heavenly Road Trip'. Next, I was at the Byron Festival,Hucknall Leisure Centre, Nottingham having a fun day reading a younger version of 'Still First.' Also, Loughborough University heard my story, along with 110 senior school students and some Head Teachers. Recently, the story went to London and the Bermondsey Project Gallery with the RNIB charity. I did some performance art, where my story was experienced in a multi-sensory manner, then from the 18th August for a week was heard as a recording. There was much generosity by some outstanding British companies who have supplied tactile aids, thanks Speedo and Candles.co.uk. They joined me, entering into the spirit of the Olympics.
