Biography

Since supporting literacy in schools for twenty years, I facilitate lifelong learning. As an expressive writer and creative mentor, I am passionate about helping children, teens, and adults explore storytelling, poetry, and creative writing. My career began with a Certificate in Creative Writing from Lancaster University. That was followed by a prize-winning short story, ‘Off the Beaten Track’. A Unique Writing Publications Story Award followed for prose non-fiction called ‘Love’. My YA novella about loss is called 'Get Over It, Adventures.' An ebook of YA short stories is 'The Heavenly Roadtrip.'
At present, I enjoy freelance facilitating with lifelong learners. I received Arts Council England grants for 'Family Matters' & 'Making Our World Better' community anthologies. My collection of stories and poetry is 'Count Our Blessings, Stories and poems of identity and hope.' Recently, I edited 'Moments of Grace-Creative Nonfiction & Poetry by Scriptorium Writers and Guests.' Now I am chair of Scriptorium Writers that are affiliated to the Association of Christian Writers.
For the youngest readers, I've drafted and self-published resilience-building, wildlife picture books. The last is called 'Who Cares About Superheroes'. That tells of a positive foster family. Liam as he settles into his foster home with much help from superheroes. He has super fun living next to the sea with his new friends—they include a dog. He particularly bonds with a seal pup, which also has to deal with his mum being away.
